If I had an orchard, it would be filled with rows of perfect apple trees. Red and green, sweet and juicy, and oh so crunchy! My workers would be little girls with golden curls, wearing denim work aprons with big blue bows in their hair, and every apple (yes, every!) would be tied with a bright red ribbon. And, of course, everyone could eat to their heart’s content. Ok, let’s face it. If I had an orchard, I’d have a number of problems, the least of which would be getting little girls to tie ribbons onto each and every apple. But I’d have fun trying, right! (Most likely not, but we won’t let that ruin a good daydream!)
This all sounds like ALMOST as much fun as I had making these little aprons for Sedef’s blog tour! As soon as she asked I started racking my brains for what would go perfectly with a line called ‘Sweet Orchard’. I dragged out the little strawberry thread drawings I made a while back using some vintage wool blankets and knew they had to play a role. I found a tutorial for the aprons here, and Cristy found me the perfect denim linen at Muddy Ruffles Fabric Addiction.
And then, because I still had time (and fabric!), and I’m a bit crazy, and I knew Lori Holt had a pretty cute little Apple Picking Quilt pattern, I made this little potholder for Rosie’s play kitchen using the NanaCompany tutorial.
And now I’m definitely done. Phew!
Have you been following along with the Sweet Orchard blog tour? Are you as impressed as I am at all the inspiration? Sedef’s colour choices are lovely and speak perfectly to her style. It’s such a happy fabric line and it suits so many different uses as you can see from the varied creations of all the blog tour participants.
It’s been such a pleasure to help a friend celebrate the release her debut fabric line. Make sure you stop by all the blogs participating in the tour; there is so much beautiful Sweet Orchard goodness, and it really is very inspiring. All the stops along the way are listed below!

A big thanks to Sarah (@my.heart.project on Instagram) and Harlow (@Harlow_Ever_After) for happily allowing the mosquitos to carry us and all our junk back to the cars. They were so obliging.
