‘Palma’ Retro Palm Quilt Pattern (Paper)

A riff on a vintage design, the Palma Quilt incorporates a range of smooth curves to create a timeless but modern palm motif. Palma speaks a variety of style languages depending on the fabrics used and can be made to suit any gender.

The Palma Quilt pattern is ideal for intermediate to experienced quilters, or newbies who are open to learning a few new tricks!

Piecing curves can be scary - I get it! So here's what I've done to help you on your way to making a quilt you can be proud of.

I'm a big believer in adding a bit of leeway in my curved templates. Often, when you piece curved blocks they end up being a bit wonky and need to be trimmed to get them into the right shape before using in the final quilt top. That's where my templates shine - the extra allowance I provide makes sure that when you're trimming you don't end up with any 1/8" seams. Because that's not fun!
